This Agility class emphasizes fundamentals. You will learn to communicate with your dog in their language and learn the basics for Agility. It is a great bonding experience as well as future prep if competition is what you are interested in pursuing with your four footed partner.

This Agility class emphasizes continuation of fundamentals. Your communication with your do, in their language, is key to achieving in Agility. Contacts and Weaves are expanded in this class as well as continuing with send basics for Agility. It is a great bonding experience, as well as future prep if competition is what you are interested in pursuing with your four footed partner.

Evaluation & Orientation- Sunday, February 18, 2024 3:00-4:00

Agility class Readiness Evaluation prep:

•Arrive 5-10 min before the scheduled start time.

•Check-in at the front desk.

•Keep your dog close to you on a short leash; don’t allow him to approach other dogs.

•There will typically be 4-6 dogs in your readiness evaluation.

•Bring the right stuff:

At least 20 plus small and very yummy treats.
Your dog wearing a plain collar and/or harness.
4’- 6’ leash made of leather, rope or nylon. Please do not bring a retractable leash or a chain leash.

Barn Hunt Run Through -Mock Trial -Saturday, Feb 24, 2024 12:30- 2:00

In preparation for BARN HUNT TRIALS ARE HAPPENING STARTING MARCH 9TH at Teamworks. This is a fun relatively new dog sport where straw bales are set up in a course. Hidden in the straw bales are canisters similar to what you’d use at a drive-through bank. One or more of the canisters contain a live rat! It’s your dog’s job to sniff out that rat and tell you where it is. Dogs and their handlers work as a team to locate and mark rats (which are always safely held in aerated tubes) hidden in a maze of straw or hay bales.

Run through a mock trial for the first two levels – Instinct and Novice

If you have never done Barn Hunt see out Intro seminar for learning how its done.
Arrive 5-10 min before the scheduled start time.
Check-in
Crating is available otherwise, you must keep your dog close to you on a short leash; don’t allow him to approach other dogs.
You are welcome to try as many run throughs with the cost of $5.00 per run.
Bring the right stuff:
- At least 20 plus small and very yummy treats for a party after you dog finds the rat.
- Your dog wearing an easily removable collar and leash.
- Please do not bring a retractable leash or a chain leash.

Barn Hunt Introductory Seminar -Saturday, Feb 24, 2024 11:00- 12:15

Barn Hunt is a relatively new dog sport where straw bales are set up in a course. Hidden in the straw bales are canisters similar to what you’d use at a drive-through bank. This Agility class is for dogs and handlers to who wish to compete in Carolina Dog Sports Beach Bums Freshman Limited AKC League. Classes will concentrate on individual skills, contacts, sends, as well as weave practice. League courses will be run during the class.
